I am a BACP registered Psychodynamic Counsellor and can offer time limited sessions or longer term counselling depending on your needs. I have experience of working with young people and adults suffering from a range of difficulties such as depression, anxiety, stress, phobias, relationship issues, bereavement, trauma, and addiction.
If counselling is something you have not tried before you might be curious as to what it entails and nervous of sharing with another, so it may help for me to say that my approach is open and non-judgmental. I would invite you to attend an initial session in which you can talk about what has brought you to counselling now. This session will allow you to decide if counselling might be helpful to you and if you feel comfortable working with me.
As a registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy I ensure to follow its ethical guidelines. I therefore am fully insured, receive regular supervision and attend Continued Professional Development workshops and training.
What is psychodynamic counselling?
Psychodynamic counselling considers an individuals experiences throughout their whole life. Our current situation, thoughts, feelings and behaviours might be linked to previous experiences and relationships and this is something that can be thought about in counselling. The ultimate goal will to be to reach a point in which you feel you have a better understanding of yourself.
