I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the BABCP. Since qualifying in 2009 I have spent my time working in a range of child and adolescent mental health services within the NHS including inpatient and community settings. I have experience of working with children and young people up to the age of 18 who are affected by a variety of mental health difficulties including depression, self harm, exam stress, anxiety disorders such as phobias, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety, separation anxiety and social anxiety . This has also included working with parents to help them support their child with these difficulties. I continue to work in a child and adolescent mental health service alongside my private work.
I use therapeutic approaches and techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused therapy (CFT) and mindfulness. I work collaboratively with families and young people to help them to reach their goals.
I am committed to keeping my skills and training up to date by attending relevant training courses and workshops.
