Dr Amy Gibbard
I am Dr. Amy Gibbard, a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over twelve years of experience working with adults with mental health difficulties in the NHS and in private practice. An approachable and skilled practitioner, I have helped a great many people who have struggled with a wide range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic-stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), self-harming behaviour, relationship difficulties and low self-esteem.
I recognise the benefit of providing a supportive space to work through a challenging time, to enable you to feel heard, gain understanding, build skills and confidence and find solutions and new perspectives to the problems you face. I am able to draw on a range of skills and NICE recommended therapeutic approaches to best meet your needs. I have particular specialism in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness based approaches and I am a trained Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner.
