Emma Louise Keene

Child, Adolescent and Parent Psychotherapist - MA, psych, UKCP

Areas of specialism: anxiety disorders, trauma, depression, postpartum depression and bereavement.

I am an integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist.  This means, that within my practice I am able to draw on many different therapeutic approaches, depending on what my client’s need.

I believe that no therapeutic journey is the same and this is why I really listen and think carefully with my clients about what they need and how the treatment plan might evolve over time. I also understand the courage it takes for children, adolescents and their families to embark on a therapeutic journey and as a psychotherapist promise to be a dedicated support throughout this. I strive to offer my clients a non- judgemental and confidential therapeutic space that feels safe, comfortable, warm, and containing.

I have gained extensive clinical experience within NHS settings which include St Thomas’ Hospital and Great Ormand Street Hospital. In both of these settings I supported adolescents, younger children and their families. In 2013 I also set up a therapeutic practice within a large London primary school, where I helped teachers put into place support for children who were struggling within the classroom setting. I believe passionately in the importance of helping teachers to think more therapeutically about the children who are unhappy and struggling at school, and who might be communicating this through their behaviour because they simply can’t find the words to explain it themselves. Helping children to have a happier and more positive experience of school was the driving force that led me to developing my practice.
