Dr Belinda Hemingway

I am an HCPC registered Health Psychologist and BABCP accredited CBT therapist with 20 years’ experience working in the NHS in mental and physical health improvement roles.

I have expertise in a range of psychological approaches, particularly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), but also mindfulness,

compassion and solution-focussed therapies and motivational interviewing, in a range of physical and mental health settings.

I have specialised in treating depression and low mood, generalised anxiety, health anxiety ,panic, agoraphobia, trauma including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), low self-esteem

and perfectionism, and specific phobias including blood and needle phobia.

Since qualifying as a health psychologist I have specialised in working with young people and adults with long-term health conditions – chronic pain, insomnia, diabetes, haematological

conditions, and now as lead psychologist in cardiology – in a central London NHS trust. I also worked in critical care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a health psychologist and CBT therapist, I am skilled in developing trusting therapeutic relationships to facilitate improvements in mental health and quality of life. I take a compassionate approach to help people cope and adjust to the psychological and emotional
