Claire Berry

CBT Therapist

I specialise in working with children, young people and their families. Since qualifying in 2009 I have spent my time working in a range of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) within the NHS. I use therapeutic approaches and techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused therapy (CFT) and Mindfulness. I work collaboratively with families and young people to help them to reach their goals.

 

I am experienced in working with young people who present with a range of mental health difficulties including depression specific phobias and anxiety disorders such as Generalised anxiety, separation anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

 

I have experience of working with children with neurodevelopmental conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I offer screening and full diagnostic assessments for ASD and ADHD. 

 

Training

BSc Hons in Psychology at Kingston University.  

Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing at Kings College London.

MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Children & Young People at University College London.  

Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule 2 (ADOS-2) at the Institute of Psychiatry. 

The Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication Disorders (DISCO) at the National Autistic Society.
