Child CBT Therapist, Surrey
I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with the BABCP. I specialise in working with children, young people and their families. Since qualifying in 2009 I have spent my time working in a range of child and adolescent mental health services within the NHS including inpatient and community settings. I have experience of working with children and young people up to the age of 19 who are affected by a variety of mental health difficulties including depression, self-harm, exam stress, anxiety disorders such as phobias, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety, separation anxiety and social anxiety. This has also included working with parents to help them support their child with these difficulties.
I am able to offer screening and full diagnostic assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
I continue to work in a child and adolescent mental health service alongside my private work.
I use therapeutic approaches and techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused therapy (CFT) and mindfulness. I work collaboratively with families and young people to help them to reach their goals.
I am committed to keeping my skills and training up to date by attending relevant training courses and workshops.
