Dr Kathryn Kay
Clinical Psychologist
I am a clinical psychologist currently working with young people and their families in the NHS. I believe that the key to effective therapy lies in building a trusting, respectful, and engaging relationship where clients feel genuinely heard and understood.

My approach is integrative, combining elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Systemic Therapy. I focus on tailoring each session to fit the individual’s needs, preferences, and circumstances. By creating a safe, empathetic environment, I aim to support you in exploring your challenges at your own pace.

I have experience in supporting a range of difficulties including anxiety disorders (including OCD), emotional regulation difficulties, low mood, self-esteem issues, and trauma. Additionally, I have experience supporting parents and carers with mental health related behavioural difficulties. I am passionate about supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with Autism and ADHD, and I ensure my therapeutic approach is accessible and inclusive for every person I work with.

I recognise that seeking support can be daunting, I aim to work collaboratively with clients in a supportive and non-judgmental way, by setting meaningful achievable goals that align with their personal values.
