Dr Alice Storey
Clinical Psychologist
I’m Alice, an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working in the NHS supporting individuals of all ages to navigate life’s challenges. My approach is compassionate, human and relatable. I believe that developing a strong therapeutic relationship – where you feel safe, supported and heard – provides the foundation upon which we can begin to explore your difficulties together, to better understand yourself and work towards meaningful change.

I have experience working with a wide range of psychological difficulties in children, young people and adults, including anxiety, depression, OCD, phobias, low-self-esteem, neurodiversity issues and PTSD. I have particular experience supporting those navigating trauma-related challenges, helping individuals to process and recover from painful or overwhelming experiences.

Within my work, I draw from and integrate a range of evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness and systemic concepts. This allows me to tailor our work to suit your unique needs, goals, and circumstances – ensuring we focus on what feels most meaningful and helpful to you.

I believe that understanding yourself—both your present struggles and the impact of your past—can be an empowering first step. I offer an initial assessment period to develop an understanding of your current difficulties and the factors that might be contributing to these. We will then collaboratively develop a therapy plan to reduce the impact of your difficult emotions or experiences, reduce a sense of feeling stuck and support you to move towards the life you want for yourself, in line with what matters most to you.
