Grainne Ashton

Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Hello, I’m Grainne (‘Gronya’).

I’m passionate about my work and use my training in several therapeutic approaches to help people make desired changes and improve their wellbeing.

Life presents us with challenges which can make us feel overwhelmed, stuck or at times, hopeless. Perhaps you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, loss, difficulties in relationships. Maybe you're experiencing the effects of past or recent trauma or need support through a time of difficult change. Or maybe you’re not sure why you feel distressed - therapy can help you process the impact of past experiences, explore where you are right now, and discover what you may need to move forwards and feel better.

My aim is to work with you to make sense of your experiences and feelings.  I will focus on building an environment where you feel safe, supported and free to express yourself in a way you may not feel able to elsewhere. I will listen and I won't judge you. I'll work with you at your pace, to help you find clarity and feel able to make beneficial changes that feel right for you.

I have experience of working with many different issues, gained through counselling clients in an NHS service and a women’s charity.  My area of specialist interest is in supporting women coping with relational trauma and low self-esteem.

I work with adults on an individual basis and offer short term counselling, longer term psychotherapy and deeper exploration, based on your individual circumstances and requirements.

Sessions last 50 mins, cost £70 and take place at the practice or online. I offer a free telephone conversation (15 mins) where you can find out more about how we might work together.
