Clare Taylor
CBT Therapist
I’m a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and HCPC registered Occupational Therapist. I have more than 20 years’ experience of working therapeutically with individuals looking for support with their mental health. My approach is collaborative and empathic, and I will work alongside you to explore your individual experience so we can develop a shared understanding of the issues you are facing. I work with adults and young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties including low mood, depression, low self-esteem, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias and PTSD. I have an interest in neurodiversity and adapting therapy to suit individual needs and preferences.
Alongside my independent practice I work in the NHS for a schools based mental health support team, providing therapeutic support to children and young people, and working closely with families and schools to promote wellbeing and mental health. I also have several years’ experience working in an NHS adult psychological therapies service as a CBT therapist with individuals and couples, and prior to this I had a long career working as an occupational therapist in NHS adult mental health, Autism and ADHD services.
The various roles I have held always aim to support people to live meaningful, valued lives through managing or overcoming challenges and building on strengths. I can draw on a wide range of skills and experience to offer a holistic, person-centred approach to therapy.
