Your subconscious mind is amazing – and vast. All your memories are here, all your knowledge, all possible states of mind and all your habits (including habitual patterns of thought, emotion and behaviour). Literally everything you can think of is here. Your subconscious mind contains all the answers and guidance you need to get you back to health and balance. It’s just a question of accessing it… And it is my role to help you do that.
Obviously, you do not want to suffer from things like stress, anxiety, depression, anger, guilt, fear, hurt, or unpleasant memories – and neither does your subconscious mind. It is on your side! – and, crucially, it sees more than you do. It is your guide, your roadmap – whether you engage in therapy or not – but it can struggle to be heard. When we actively seek out that true inner voice, we greatly expedite the natural processes working to bring you back into balance...
Now, we all know how to focus on a particular voice, even in a noisy room. This is vital because our minds are continuously bombarded with information – sounds, sights, smells, thoughts, memories, feelings, etc. – far more information than we could ever process. If we are to make any sense of our world, filters must be put in place to allow some information through, but block most of it.
The natural, everyday, instinctive process of filtering our experience of our world, focusing on some things while excluding others, is a trance. All of us are in (hypnotic) trances all of the time, which means we do not experience the reality of what is before us. Two people witnessing the same event have different experiences because they are in different ‘trances’. One person might focus on the darkness of a cloud; another might appreciate the uplifting beauty of the silver lining. The second person is likely to be much happier in the face of the same experience.
Your subconscious self knows just what trance (or state of mind, or perspective) you need to be in to resolve and transform any given unwanted pattern – and it’s just waiting for the opportunity to guide you into that place… And I’m here to help.
I favour the view that effective hypnotherapy rarely requires very deep (unconscious) states. When you are more aware of the process as it unfolds, not only are you receiving therapy, you are learning a new life skill.
