Dr Sohini  Shah

Satelite Clinical Psychologist

Hello, my name is Dr Sohini Shah and I am a Clinical Psychologist. I offer face to face therapy sessions with children and young people. Through my training as a Clinical Psychologist, I can provide Evidence Based therapeutic interventions for a range of presentations.

I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting and I value being able to offer a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where young people are met with compassion and warmth.

The difficulties I work with include:

  • General Anxiety

  • Panic

  • Agoraphobia

  • Social Anxiety

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Specific Phobias

  • Health Anxiety

  • Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Low mood and depression

  • Trichotillomania

  • Tics and Tourette’s

  • Emotional dysregulation

  • Low self-esteem

  • Sleep difficulties

I have experience in working with clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s Syndrome and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and make suitable adaptations to therapy for individual needs.

I primarily practice using a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach and am also trained in using other approaches such as the following:

  • Eye movement desensitisation therapy (EMDR)

  • Cognitive Behavioural therapy with Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

  • Compassion focused therapy (CFT)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Solution focused therapy (SFT)

  • Systemic approaches

  • Mindfulness based approaches

  • Behavioural Therapy

I am able to adapt my therapeutic approach flexibly, to consider the evidence base and you/your child’s unique needs and hopes.
