Chenelle Owen
CBT Therapist
My name is Chenelle Owen, and I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT). I have extensive experience working with children, young people and adults
experiencing a range of difficulties, including low mood, exam stress, self-esteem difficulties, sleep problems, phobias, generalised anxiety, separation anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic, body dysmorphia, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and trauma.
I understand that coming to therapy can feel extremely daunting, and I aim to help put my clients at ease through my warm, non-judgemental and empathic nature. I’m aware that life can be challenging at times, and leave us feeling overwhelmed. It can feel like we're the only one, and that there's no way out of our struggles.
Drawing upon CBT approaches, I place a strong emphasis on my clients being active in the therapy process, and us working together as a team. Therapy can offer us a way of seeing that we're not alone, and that there are tools and skills we can learn to overcome even the most difficult of experiences. I also ensure that I adapt and tailor therapy to meet the needs
of each individual client. Therefore, I also draw upon Mindfulness-Based Approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
I fully believe that each and every person has the capacity to move towards their strengths, values and goals. Therefore, I am truly passionate about walking alongside my clients in their journey to meaningful change.
