Autism/ADHD Assessments

What is ADHD?

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental difference that affects attention, impulsivity and activity levels. Presentations vary across people and ages. A structured assessment helps clarify diagnosis and identify practical strategies.

Why choose us for your Autism or ADHD Assessment?

At Surrey Therapy Practice, we offer highly comprehensive Autism and/or ADHD assessment services.

While most Autism/ADHD assessments are carried out by just one clinician, our process involves two experienced professionals: a Clinical Psychologist and a Specialist Autism/ADHD Assessor. This means your assessment benefits from two expert perspectives, ensuring greater accuracy, balance, and depth in understanding of yours or your children’s unique experiences.

For adults, ADHD assessments take place over two detailed sessions (each lasting around 1 to 1.5 hours), allowing us to explore not only your symptoms but also how ADHD may be affecting different areas of your life, from focus and motivation to relationships and wellbeing.

For children, Autism and ADHD assessments involve interviews with parents and teachers and either a school observation of primary age children or an interview with older children (each lasting 1 hour or more). This allows us to explore children’s presentation in different settings in depth and think about the impact of their symptoms on different aspects of their functioning, development and wellbeing.

After the assessment, you’ll receive a comprehensive diagnostic report and personalised recommendations for next steps, including tailored therapy, coaching, or medical support.

We believe in making Autism/ADHD assessments thorough, personalised and empowering, so you can gain clarity, confidence, and a plan that truly fits you.
